Old-school Italian in Brooklyn. What could be better?
Well, it could have been better if the waiter brought my friend the appetizer she’d ordered, or if, when he finally accepted her complaint that it was wrong and offered to bring the right one, he’d actually done it.
It could have been better if my water glass was refilled more than once an hour.
It could have been better if the food didn’t take an hour to come.
Could have been better if, after the entire restaurant had already cleared out and we still had yet to receive our food, they brought free food or drinks instead of saying the 2 people who had wine could get theirs for free.
It could have been better if, when we flagged down the waiter for the check, he brought the check instead of exclaiming, “Oh! You need more water!”
It could have been better if the half order I placed actually showed up as a half order on the bill.
It also could have been better if the meal didn’t take so long that it was raining by the time we left to go look at the Dyker Heights Christmas lights.
But walking through a suburban-like neighborhood festively decked out in every twinkling color imaginable with Christmas music playing via Pandora…still pretty great, regardless.
