It’s no Brooklyn Bridge, but it’s no Queensboro Bridge either.
Like the Brooklyn neighborhood itself, it’s a little underwhelming, and you get the feeling a lot of people are only there because they think they should be and not because it’s something really special. The views aren’t spectacular but there are completely separate bike and pedestrian lanes, which almost make up for the lack of picture-worthy scenes.
I’d do it again if I needed to get from Chinatown to Williamsburg, but it’s not often I need to do that. Still, I suppose it’s a possible alternative for Brooklyn inhabitants if the L train shuts down for a few years like the rumors are suggesting.
