#951: Cry while swimming

Breaststroke. It wasn’t possible while doing freestyle.

Honestly, I was surprised to find it was possible at all. In fact, my body was in no condition to be swimming in the first place after 5 days of on and off crying, but I thought I would give it a respite from thinking by going to the pool, since normally that’s the only way to turn my brain off.

Imagine my surprise when I found myself gulping for air while tears clogged my goggles.

#430: Consider medication

While walking to work yesterday, I had to gather all of my will power (which admittedly, isn’t much to begin with) not to cry.  Why?  Why, on a beautiful Friday morning, would I be at risk for bursting out in tears when there’s nothing easily identifiable that could possibly be causing me distress?

#5: Cry on a street corner

Crying while walking is easy.  I’ve done that plenty of times (my 25th birthday, practically every day for 3 weeks after my last breakup).  You just continue walking along the sidewalk as if nothing is wrong while tears stream down your cheeks so anyone who notices thinks you must have something in your eye or you just poured a bottle of water over your face or something.  You can blend in when you’re crying while walking because it’s so nonsensical that the general public can’t comprehend how you would actually be crying while walking along normally.

Crying while sitting on a bench somewhere?  I’ve done that, too.  Simple. Read the rest of this entry »
