#952: Go on a group walk

I refuse to call it a walking tour–for one reason, I don’t think that’s even what it called itself. But for another, I can’t stand the idea of walking tours.

Everyone all together in a large group, looking like tourists. Having to go at the group’s pace. Listening to annoying questions.

Okay. By those standards, this was a walking tour.

#45: Run in the park in the dark

Late last night, I was walking home and shivering like crazy.  The key word here is crazy; it wasn’t that cold out, and no one else seemed to be chilly.  Yet I, already wearing a warm winter coat, had to put on a scarf and pull on my hood.  I felt a chill deep inside that wouldn’t leave, and it was frightening because it didn’t make any sense.

#2: Hum in public

I have no problem humming alone in my apartment.  I also have no issues with humming (or singing, sometimes loudly) in public when I’m with someone else.  But humming in public, alone?  I never do that.  It’s something about wanting to avoid being that crazy lady humming to herself.

However, when I discovered my iPod had no power yesterday, I only had two choices: walk to the subway in silence, or start humming. Read the rest of this entry »
